Blue Samsung Tocco Ultra Available For Pre-Order

The S3800 Tocco is a quad band slider touch screen smart phone developed by telecommunications giant Samsung. The phone is due to be released on the 20th of March 2009. There is a lot of attention focused on the phone’s release, as it is vastly improved version of the popular Tocco phone that was released in summer 2008. Incidentally the Tocco was the best selling mobile handset in the second half of 2008.

Samsung are planning to release the phone in a range of colours including red and pink. They have just confirmed that the handset will be available for pre-order in blue as well.

Releasing the phone in a range of colours is an important move for Samsung as it fits in with the whole ethos of the phone. Samsung approaches the Tocco Ultra with the belief that the whole phone should be customisable by its users. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all policy with their phones, unlike Apple or RIM which produce standard looking mobile phones indistinguishable from one another.

This flexible approach to its handset is evident in all aspects of the Tocco Ultra. For instance although the Tocco Ultra is a touch screen phone but it also includes a 3×4 key pad which gives users the best of both worlds: the ease of use of a touch screen and the practical aspects of a physical QWERTY keyboard. S22 Ultra developer options To improve the touch screen user experience that some people find difficult to use, the Tocco Ultra includes Haptic technology. Haptic technology gives the sensation of physical keys but on a touch screen.

The touch screen lets users control the phone in an intuitive manner. With a touch screen, gesture replaces having to navigate the phone or perform certain action by pressing a confusing array of buttons. With a flick of the finger it’s possible to view photos, navigate maps, or surf the web.

Not only is the phone responsive to gesture it is responsive to the users wants. The Tocco Ultra lets users customise their home screen by letting them drag and drop their favourite widgets in whatever location they desire, all with one finger. Meaning users can access their favourite widgets for fast access to their favourite applications.

But the Tocco ultra isn’t just a utilitarian device. It is as much about style as it is about practicality. This is why it is important that Samsung releases the phone in a range of colours, as the phone is like a fashionable accessory that is meant to be seen and admired.
